Hey guys! Long time no speak! Hope everyone is doing ok, I have had some busy years, with work, running (I'm a runner now lol) got back to studying, majoring in chemistry, all going very awesome! Still have my tanks and my fish.. Been lurking here from time to time so lets see if we can get some topics going lol.

Thinking I want some saltwater in my life after all these years, was thinking of turning my 20g to saltwater, what do you guys think? any input appreciated!

I have the live sand, and good lighting, my biggest concerns and questions are when it comes to filtration, I know it's more complex than freshwater

Look at the berlin method of marine filtration as its what I use.Its basically letting live rock do its thing and adding a good skimmer to the system to get the DOC's that occur and this is putting it simply.Lighting is an endless subject with T5,LED,and MH all still in the mix.Phosphate and Nitrate is usually dealt with in additional reactors or by in sump DSB and Cheato algea to get rid it......This is putting it VERY simply and it gets a lot more complex when you start looking into the chemistry of kH alk,Magnesium,and Calcium and the balance between them.........Have fun in reading ALL about it.
