Well in the last few weeks I have found myself down the larger Bolivian Ram, the Glass catfish and a Congo Tetra. Everything fine in the tank, just seems to be one of those phases.

Thinking I wont replace anything now, might head towards a rethink on whats in it, maybe even wait and go for a puffer species tank..............

Min, sorry for your losses rip.gif

But hels and w-t bring up a good point . . . . how old were those fish?

I remember when a fish of mine would die for no apparant reason . . . I thought I was doing something wrong, or the water was bad, etc. etc.

I guess they all have only a certain amount of time (just like WE do) sad.gif

All best,
Joe

sorry min. like everyone, i've gone through that too.

first inclination is 'what'd i do wrong?' then as you check off things you realize maybe it was just old age.

The Congo's were Ricks before I had them so I think he's know. The Ram Rach had for years I think before I got them, could be old age, just a devil when it all happens at once. By the way, I;d assumed the glass cat was gone as I hadn't been able to find it for a good few days, spotted it last night fine and well.

Wt, yes I did have pygmy puffers but lost them all after entrusting someone to feed them while I was away. I've now got two red eyed puffers that are in the same tank as the fish above. They've proved to be great, they will chase each other from time to time to get at the feed first but otherwise they leave everything else alone. Interestingly they eat the flaked food the other fish eat just as readily as their own frozen food although they will only eat bloodworm and artemia, wont touch any other types.

Would love to have more of them if I could turn the tank over to them as a species tank.

sorry to hear about your losses, hope they are they last ones.
I lost a few fish a few weeks from the same tank. Sometimes it makes me want to quit fishkeeping when you cant find a problem and solve it.

yup when that happens then it can only be a shake of the head and a shrug of the shoulders and as Rahne said you are peeved about it and think sometimes is it worth it, but then we all know we will not give up but try something else or a diffrent set up because we do know we are doing the best we can......and we are foolish in liking our fish.
