Well, for what it is worth, I have had literally dozens of the fluvals, and I think they are fantastic filters, having been extremely reliable. So don't lose heart with it just yet smile.gif

was it doing this before you cleaned it?
How long does it run before the flow starts getting low?

I would just strip it down try it without any media in see if it still does it.

I'm like rick i have always used fluvals and only ever had a problem with the one i currently have, and to be fair it still runs fine just a bit noisy

the development is: my tank is getting cloudy! Added a small filter in yesterday to help it along. Gonna do a water change tonight - test the water. Also check filter (again) and pipes.

yeah just shake it, dont need to do it too hard.... ajust imagine u were throttling someone lol it might displace trapped air which could slow down water flow if its around the impeller. if it does release air then keep doing it. i always have to do this with mine even though they are ment to sort themselves out

Sounds as if you have a mini-cycle due to all the extra cleaning . . . sad.gif

Rick the filter media was filthy! Danny just throttled my filter and no air came out but a massive jet of dirty matter came out. Flow improved a bit

The finest media is a sponge. I did I big check of the pipes ect last night. Cleaned out some water and didn't clean the fluval. Flow improved a lot! Still in bed now but will check the tank when I get up!!
