hi all
i have been looking at this small tank ive ehad by my bed for a few days now thinking what to do with it. i now no that i want to make a nano reef with it. the difference is that it is about 5-8(ill check exact 2morrow) litres in size. this will be the smallest nano reef ive done from a 30 litre one. im going to be running it on a berlin system ( live rock) i will have a compact t5 on it and a compact v2 120 protein skimer from tmc. i will start on wednesday night nd hopefully have it running then so pics to come then. also another thread of mine to look out for on thursday or friday night will be of me setting up my 5 foot reef tank. thanks all
luke

I've got one of those skimmers. Not as small as I had hoped and I would've thought it would look truly enormous in a nano that small. I would be inclined to ditch a skimmer in a nano that size and deal with it through water changes instead.

Either way, looking forward to the pics and details as you build the nano and your main reef tank up.

Just an idea, but have you thought about doing a nano freshwater planted tank with bogwood and Java moss in the 8 litre? That would be even more unusual wink.gif

hi all sorry for the late reply. the nano is great or it is actually a peco now? as it is 20l>any who i have a small groupe of purple hornet zoanthids. another type of zoa. a few shrooms, a few hermits, 2 nitro snails and two small ocellaris which will be moved in the 5 footer soon. the tank will have a pair of yasha gobies in there. soon i will set up a 3rd marine tank and hopefully keep species only with just fu manchu lionfish and have a breeding project if the tanks large enough. will upload pics when i remember how!
